Making
a Difference
The
River of Grace Church sponsors Hannah and Amy's care. The faithful giving of church
members has enabled us to cover the costs of their accommodation, food, schooling
and basic medical care. It is our hope that in the future we will be able to help
sponsor many other children like Hannah and Amy.

Amy
is a very bright, happy, and fun loving young lady. She has had little schooling
and really wants to learn to read a write. Amy is schooled at the Agape Family
Life house.
Amy spends most of her
day studying and receives daily physical therapy. Amy loves playing games on the
computer. She has a small flower garden she takes care of, and enjoys the outdoors
very much.
With the help or River of Grace Church and other donors Amy will be traveled to America in the fall of 2007 to receive a series of life changing surgeries. Unfortunately due to her lung condition she was not able to be operated on, however she received several months of intense physiotherapy. When she returned to Beijing, she was able to walk! We now are in the process of trying to raise funds for a therapy pool at Agape Family Life House, so that Amy can continue her therapy and others like her will begin to learn to walk as well.
At one time Hannah could walk and ride at small bike, but the increase of her disease and lack of Physical therapy soon left her unable to keep going. Eventually she lost most of her ability to take care of herself and wound up just spending her days sitting in her wheelchair.
Hannah
now lives at Agape Family Life House where she lives in a loving family environment,
is receiving an education and better medical care.
On July 10, 2006 Hanna
received major surgery on her legs. The doctors performed what is called a tendon
displacement. She has a real desire to regain mobility. She is now able to stand
once again, and we look forward to a day where she will walking.
